WASHINGTON — Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA) issued the following statement today in response to the U.S. Senate voting to reject the House-passed Continuing Resolution (CR), H.J. Res 59, to fund the government until December 15, 2013, which included an amendment to delay the Individual Mandate provision of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare) for one year.

WASHINGTON — Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA), a member of the House Ways and Means Subcommittee on Oversight, issued the following statement today in response to the retirement of former Internal Revenue Service (IRS) official Lois Lerner, who previously served as director of the agency’s Exempt Organization Division. She had been on paid administrative leave since May following the agency’s admitted targeting of conservative groups for excessive scrutiny.

WASHINGTON — Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA), a member of the House Ways and Means Committee, issued the following statement today after introducing H.R. 3134, the Charitable Giving Extension Act, which would allow taxpayers to deduct their charitable contributions of the previous tax year until April 15 of the following year, in order to coincide with tax filing deadlines. According to studies by the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University, 88 percent of U.S. households donate to some form of charity.
