Rep. Kelly believes every hardworking American deserves a comfortable retirement. With Pennsylvanians living longer and spending more of their golden years in retirement, it is important they have an adequate nest egg for a secure retirement. Starting with preserving and strengthening the Social Security system, Rep. Kelly’s highest priority is to improve retirement security for older Americans today and for future generations.

To expand retirement savings and access to workplace retirement plans, Congressman Kelly co-authored the bipartisan Retirement Enhancement and Savings Act of 2019, which was enacted in December 2019 as part of the Setting Every Community Up for Retirement Enhancement (SECURE) Act. The SECURE Act aims to encourage employers to adopt new retirement plans, enhances the ability of employees to transfer their retirement plan assets to a new plan when they change jobs, and helps workers to plan and save for their retirement.

Rep. Kelly is also a member of the Ways & Means Health Subcommittee, which has jurisdiction over Medicare policy. The subcommittee also handles legislation and oversight related to programs paying for health care, health delivery systems, or health research authorized in the Social Security Act.
