Did you know: Pennsylvania has the third-most volunteer/mostly volunteer fire departments in the United States? Nearly 97% of the commonwealth's 1,800 registered fire departments are just that, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). 176 of those companies are right here in PA-16!

That's why my team and I have worked hard to produce a one-stop shop detailing how our brave first responders can access federal grant funding and other aid. This 18-page packet outlines a series of available federal, state, and foundation grants for local fire departments. The average cost to outfit just one firefighter is more $9,400, according to the International Association of Fire Chiefs. That means this grant funding goes a long way toward making sure our local heroes have the resources they need to keep us safe.
