Veterans & Defense

I am grateful to all those who have served in our armed forces, and to the brave men and women who are currently serving our country overseas. The people of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania are proud to count one million veterans as friends, family, and neighbors. All who have served have sacrificed, and we owe our liberty and freedom to our veterans.
I am committed to serving our veterans. I am working to ensure that our veterans receive the benefits and the care that they so greatly deserve. I am pleased to work with our two local VA hospitals, the Erie VA Medical Center and Abie Abraham VA Clinic in Butler, to provide quality care to veterans in the 16rd District.
I am also committed to serving veterans by helping them to obtain job training and education at our great colleges and universities in Pennsylvania, to empower them to advance their careers and provide for their families. We are eternally grateful to our veterans and it is my goal to see to it that they have the services they need to lead healthy and productive lives after their time in the military is complete.
Now more than ever, the Federal government must work to provide services and healthcare to our veterans in a way that works for them. Many veterans take advantage of and benefit from the comprehensive VA services offered in Pennsylvania, but others could benefit from expanded or alternative ways of providing care. Too many veterans face addiction or mental health challenges, and the isolation imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic has hit many veterans particularly hard. We must work to reach these veterans in the homes and communities so they have the same access to care as every other veteran.
If you or your loved one are a veteran and you’re having difficult navigating the VA system, please reach out to my office. My staff are standing by ready to assist.
