Rep. Kelly Salutes America's Veterans

November 11, 2013

WASHINGTON — Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA) issued the followed statement today in recognition of Veterans Day.

“Throughout our nation's great history, we've been blessed to see generations of patriots pick up arms and go into battle to protect our country and defend liberty so that the next generation could live in a freer and safer world. As the saying goes, 'All gave some, some gave all.'

“Those who answer the call of duty and wear our nation's uniform are not only appreciated but revered, honored, and cherished. And those who pay the ultimate price are eternally memorialized in our hearts and in our minds. We commemorate each of their service and sacrifices in songs, on monuments, and on days like today — when a grateful nation comes together to say 'Thank You' to our mightiest heroes.

“With every new generation there has always come forth a new class of Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Coast Guardsmen, and Marines ready to defend our freedom and our safety. They stand in the noble shadow of those who wore the uniform before them, and bravely go wherever history calls them to go.

“This Veterans Day – and indeed all year round – let us never forget that America remains the land of the free only because of the brave. May God continue to bless the United States of America and all those who have nobly fought – and are still fighting – to keep her safe and free.”
