U.S. Representative Mike Kelly announces 2019 Congressional Art Competition

Mar 18, 2019

WASHINGTON – Congressman Mike Kelly (R-PA) invites high school students from Pennsylvania’s 16th Congressional District to participate in the 2019 Congressional Art Competition.  Artwork may be submitted to Rep. Kelly’s office beginning today and until the deadline at 5 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019.

The Congressional Art Competition is a great platform for students to showcase their artistic abilities and express themselves through their creativity, said Kelly. Each year, I am so impressed by the outstanding talent in our area and I encourage students to take advantage of this unique opportunity to share their artwork and compete for a place in a NATIONAL exhibit.

All artwork submitted will be placed on display at the beautiful Sans MOCO Gallery located on Main Street in Greenville. All participants and their families will be honored during a district ceremony at the gallery. Four winning entries will be selected by a panel of art professionals. The 1st place winner will receive two free round-trip airfare tickets to Washington, D.C., to attend an official reception honoring the winners from all congressional districts around the country. The winner’s artwork will be showcased in the U.S. Capitol for one year and the top three runners-up will have their submissions displayed in Rep. Kelly’s Washington, D.C. office.
