BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA -- Today, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) issued their finalized rule revising energy efficiency standards for distribution transformers, a dramatic walk-back following public opposition led by U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA), a decision that will maintain domestic Grain Oriented Electrical Steel (GOES) production and 1,300 family-sustaining jobs at Cleveland-Cliffs Butler Works in Butler, Pennsylvania.

BUTLER, PENNSYLVANIA -- On Monday night, U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) held a standing-room only public town hall in conjunction with officials from Cleveland-Cliffs Butler Works and United Auto Workers Local 3303, which represents workers at Butler Works, to inform the community of a U.S. Department of Energy proposal that could eliminate 1,300 jobs at this plant. An estimated 525 concerned workers, Butler area residents, and local officials packed Butler County Community College's Founders Hall for the presentation by Rep.

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) invited U.S. Department of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm to attend his upcoming public town hall to explain the Department's proposed rule that threatens 1,300 jobs at Cleveland-Cliffs Butler Works steel plant in Butler, Pennsylvania.

In a letter sent to the Department of Energy, Rep. Kelly calls on Secretary Granholm to "answer to the community that this rule proposal would so greatly impact."
