Representative Mike Kelly Participates in Korean War Commemoration Ceremony

Washington, D.C. — Today, U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (PA-03) participated in a Korean War Commemoration Ceremony at the Korean War Veterans’ Memorial in Washington, DC. The Commemoration was hosted by Korean Ambassador to the U.S. Duk-Soo Han and the Korean Office of the Defense Attaché. Representative Kelly and Representative Tom Reed (NY-29) joined military representatives from the 16 nations that sent troops to Korea during the war, key U.S. and Korean military and government dignitaries, and both U.S. and Korean veterans of the war.

Representative Kelly issued the following statement:

“The United States and the Republic of Korea have a deep and sustaining relationship built on shared values and shared sacrifice.

“Tomorrow marks the 61stanniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War and the early days of an alliance with Korea that has withstood the test of time.

“In honor of those who made the ultimate sacrifice for the cause of freedom on the Korean Peninsula, we offer our prayers and affirm our continued support of this trusted ally who has fought alongside the U.S. in nearly every major conflict the U.S. has faced since World War II.”
