Representative Mike Kelly Calls on Senate to Pass Continuing Resolution
Washington, D.C. — U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (PA-03) is calling on the Senate to pass the bi-partisan supported continuing resolution passed by the House last night, which will keep the government operating until November 18 and will provide immediate disaster assistance to affected communities throughout the country. Rep. Kelly issued the following statement:
“Disaster funding for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) could run out as early as Monday if the Senate refuses to pass the continuing resolution that the House passed last night. This would further hurt families and businesses that are already struggling to recover from the devastating effects of natural disaster by delaying the relief they so critically need.
“I urge Senate Majority Leader Reid to put people before politics, and pass this common-sense legislation that not only keeps the government open, but assures assistance to disaster-stricken towns across the country.”
