WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA) issued the following statement today in appreciation of all the members of the United States Armed Forces who served the nation during Operation: Iraqi Freedom.

“Today’s anniversary is an opportunity to reflect on a decade of service and sacrifice and to thank the sons and daughters who represented the best of our country in defense of freedom in Iraq. We will always salute those who nobly fought to liberate millions from Saddam Hussein’s terror, and we will never forget the heroism of those who paid the ultimate price so that we may live in a freer and safer world with a new partner in place of a former tyranny.

“America is blessed to be defended by the greatest fighting force the world has ever known. Whenever and wherever history calls our men and women in uniform to serve, they proudly answer the call and carry out their mission with an excellence unmatched by any military on Earth. On this anniversary, may God bless all the veterans of Operation: Iraqi Freedom along with those who still serve in Afghanistan and around the globe, and may He continue to bless the United States of America.”
