Rep. Kelly Statement on Supreme Court Decision to Reinstate Temporary Travel Ban
WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (R-PA) issued the following statement today regarding the unanimous decision by the U.S. Supreme Court to reinstate most of President Trump’s travel ban, first introduced via executive order in January and revised in March.
“Like President Trump and many in our national security community, I applaud the Supreme Court for allowing the federal government to carry out its constitutional duty to protect the American people. The reality of today’s war is that the enemy is committed to using every possible means to murder our citizens on our soil, including infiltration and exploitation of our country’s extraordinary spirit of compassion and acceptance, as in Europe. I believe the president’s order, and today’s decision permitting most of its implementation, will help take a strategic weapon out of our enemies’ hands and give us an important advantage over their ambitions. I remain confident that the Trump administration can meet the task of upholding our country’s values while fulfilling its number one job: keeping us safe in a dangerous world.”
