Washington, D.C. — U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (PA-03) issued the following statement on today’s payroll tax cut extension agreement:

“People in Washington like to talk about not letting the perfect become the enemy of the good. Today’s deal was neither perfect, nor good. But with a Senate that has failed to pass a budget in more than 900 days, and a Senate Majority Leader who has been more concerned about going on vacation than reaching an agreement to give 160 million hardworking Americans a year-long payroll tax cut extension, what more can we expect.

"Tonight I share the same feeling of frustration that constituents from throughout the Third District have expressed to me over the past several months. However, it has strengthened my resolve to go back into session in January to fight even harder to reform Washington's reckless fiscal policies and advance an economic growth agenda that will benefit all Americans."
