Kelly Announces $1.5 million POWER Grant to Crawford County for Hiking Trail Improvements

October 14, 2020

Washington, D.C. - Today, U.S. Representative Mike Kelly announced that Crawford County will receive a $1.5 million POWER Grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission. The money will be used to construct new segments of hiking trails in the Erie to Pittsburgh trail system and to improve the Pennsylvania Wilds Loop trail network.

"At a time when Americans are visiting public lands more than ever, I am grateful that Crawford County will receive this much-needed POWER Grant to construct new trails and upgrade existing ones”, said Kelly. "Not only is this good for lovers of the outdoors, but it also serves our region’s mission to diversify the economies of coal country communities. I will continue to support the Appalachian Regional Commission’s investment in western Pennsylvania."
