Erie and Sharon Health Care Providers to Receive HHS Grants to Combat Coronavirus
Washington, D.C. - U.S. Representative Mike Kelly announced today that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) has awarded grants to Erie-based Community Health Net and Sharon-based Primary Health Network to assist the health care providers in combating COVID-19.
"Western Pennsylvania doctors and nurses are on our front line against the coronavirus and they are working around the clock," said Kelly. "Thank you to the Trump Administration for recognizing the needs of our health care heroes and supplying them with resources to keep up the fight."
Community Health Net and Primary Health Network received these grants because they had previously applied for and received HHS funds for other purposes. The funding was issued as part of the Health Resources and Services Administration's effort to award $1.3 billion to 1,387 health centers across America. The money can be used to detect, prevent, diagnose, and treat COVID-19 as well as to increase or maintain staffing levels during this public health emergency.\
- Community Health Net will receive $761,780
- Primary Health Network will receive $2,169,515
