Washington D.C. – Today, U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (PA-03) and members of the GOP Freshman Class held a Capitol press conference calling on Senate leadership to pass a budget and take action on 12 House-passed jobs bills that are awaiting Senate action.

October 4, 2011, marks 888 days since the Senate passed a budget, forcing the federal government to operate on a series of stop-gap budgetary measures called continuing resolutions. In a letter signed by 37 Members, the Freshman Class called on the Senate to join them in their efforts to turn the American economy around by providing the certainty that only a long-term budget can provide, and by getting rid of the regulatory burdens that are preventing the private sector from creating jobs and getting Americans back to work.

Rep. Kelly spoke about the Senate's failure to pass a budget on the House floor. Click to Watch Video
