Rep. Mike Kelly statement on selection of Kevin McCarthy as Speaker of the House

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) released the following statement after the majority of members of the U.S. House of Representatives voted for Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as Speaker of the House.
"At last, we have a Speaker of the House. I've been proud to support Kevin McCarthy for Speaker of the House. With this historic process behind us, I trust he will work to unite the House Republican Conference and include all of our Conference's diverse group of voices and ideas for our common goals: lowering the cost of living, securing our borders, and making America energy independent once again. It's times like now when I remember the important words of my former Notre Dame football coach, Ara Parseghian: 'As long as there's unity, there's strength.' I look forward to getting back to work for the people of Western Pennsylvania as the 118th Congress begins!"
Rep. Kelly voted for McCarthy in each of the 15 votes for Speaker of the House.
