Rep. Kelly welcomes Pennsylvanians to Washington, D.C. for annual March for Life

January 20, 2023

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) participated in the March for Life, the annual pro-life rally on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. This marks the first March for Life following the U.S. Supreme Court's ruling last summer that returns power to states and elected officials to pass life-affirming laws. This year's march also marks the 50th anniversary of the landmark U.S. Supreme Court ruling Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion nationwide. Since the Roe ruling in 1973, more than 62 million lives have been lost to legalized abortion.

Following the rally, Rep. Kelly and members of Pennsylvania's House Republican delegation hosted a Pro-Life Meet & Greet Reception in the Cannon House Office Building on Capitol Hill to welcome marchers from Pennsylvania and around the country.

"What we saw at today's rally truly shows that the future is pro-life, and that future generations are just as passionate about this issue as they were before last summer's landmark Supreme Court ruling," Kelly said. "We will continue our fight to protect the unborn, to promote the adoption option, and to strengthen families across the country. Additionally, I want to thank everyone who traveled to Washington for the event. Without their efforts and the efforts millions of others over the last half-century, we would not have made the progress toward protecting life that we have made today."
