Rep. Kelly statement as Wabtec-UE 506 strike reaches two-month mark

ERIE, PENNSYLVANIA -- Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) released the following statement as a strike by workers of UE Local 506 at Wabtec, located in Erie County, reaches its two-month mark and as negotiations between the company and the union continue.

"As this strike nears its two-month mark, I encourage leaders of Wabtec and UE 506 to reach a contract that is acceptable to all parties as soon as possible," Rep. Kelly said. "It is important to remember that nobody can get everything they want from a negotiation. I believe it's not the government's role to involve itself in union negotiations. But, I also believe it is in the best interest of Erie's economy, Western Pennsylvania, and the 1,400 families impacted by these negotiations for all parties to reach a deal as soon as possible."
