WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) voted in support of the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), a comprehensive package of legislation to support our military and national defense programs.
"Today's vote is a win for the American people and our national security. We must give our military every tool possible to keep our great nation safe," Rep. Kelly said. "I'm proud to support the 5.2% pay raise for our Servicemembers, which is the largest pay raise in 20 years. During a time of global uncertainty, it is imperative that we strengthen our military and support those who so bravely serve in it."
WHAT'S INCLUDED
The FY24 NDAA:
- Boosts Servicemember pay and benefits and improves the quality of life for military families by including a 5.2% pay raise for military service members, the largest in 20 years
- Builds and maintains the overmatch we need to counter Communist China’s aggression by strengthening homeland defense and preventing CCP espionage
- Supports border security by providing funding for counterdrug and counter transnational organized crime activities by adding planning services to the types of support that the DoD can provide law enforcement
- Pushes back against the radical woke ideology being forced on our servicemen and women and restores the focus of our military on lethality
