Kelly issues statement on SCOTUS vaccine mandate ruling

On Thursday, U.S. Rep. Mike Kelly (R-PA) released the following statement on the U.S. Supreme Court's decision to overturn the Biden administration's unlawful vaccine mandate:
"Workers, not the federal government, should have the opportunity to decide whether the COVID-19 vaccine is right for them," Kelly said. "The mandate was unlawful and not based in science. Today's ruling by the Supreme Court is a welcome victory for personal and medical freedom."
BACKGROUND
On Thursday, the U.S. Supreme Court blocked the Biden administration from enforcing its sweeping vaccine-or-test requirements for large private companies. The Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) mandate required that workers at businesses with 100 or more employees get vaccinated or submit a negative COVID test weekly to enter the workplace. The rulings came three days after OSHA's emergency measure for businesses started to take effect.
