Rep. Kelly Announces Staff Hires and Promotions

WASHINGTON — U.S. Representative Mike Kelly (PA-03) announced several staff changes and appointments for the 114th Congress which began earlier this month. These changes are detailed below.

Washington, DC, Operations:

  • Michael Walter from Erie, PA, has joined the Washington, DC, office as a Staff Assistant.  Michael will soon graduate from Mercyhurst University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (with a concentration in Applied Politics) and a Minor in Communication. He graduated with an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts (with a concentration in Communication) from Mercyhurst North East in 2013. He previously held two internship positions in Rep. Kelly’s Erie office and most recently served as a Grassroots Coordinator for Rep. Kelly’s 2014 re-election campaign. 
  • Robert Smith from Lower Gwynedd, PA, has been promoted to Legislative Correspondent.  Robert previously served as the Staff Assistant in Rep. Kelly’s Washington office. He graduated cum laude from Dartmouth College in December 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Government and dual Minors in Anthropology and Music.

Third District Operations:

  • Lindsey Shilling from Waterford, PA, joined Rep. Kelly’s Erie office in 2014 as a Constituent Services Representative.  Lindsey is a 2011 graduate of Allegheny College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History. She previously lived and served in Ukraine for the U.S. Peace Corps from 2012 to 2014.
  • Tony Digiacamo from Saegertown, PA, recently joined Rep. Kelly’s staff as a fellow from the Wounded Warrior Program.  Tony is a 17-year veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and retired as a Gunnery Sergeant. He served two tours of duty in Iraq (2003 and 2004) and also in Somalia (1993). Tony will work in Rep. Kelly’s Erie office each week from Monday to Thursday and in his Sharon office on Fridays. Tony’s fellowship will last the entirety of the 114th Congress.
