Fourth Member of President Trump’s Cabinet Visits Western Pennsylvania as Interior Secretary Inspects Erie National Wildlife Refuge

Washington, D.C. - Yesterday, United States Secretary of the Interior David Bernhardt joined Representative Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) for a site inspection at the Erie National Wildlife Refuge. During the visit, they talked of the important role that Department of Interior lands, including the refuge, play in the lives of Americans. They also discussed a model for reopening other park sites. Kelly issued this statement thanking the secretary for making western Pennsylvania a priority:

"Showing up shows that you care, and the visit by Secretary Bernhardt shows that the Trump administration cares about Crawford County and the rest of the sixteenth district. The Erie National Wildlife Refuge is a haven for western Pennsylvanians craving the outdoors after a long winter during the COVID-19 pandemic, so we thank the Trump Administration for listening to us on how the Department of the Interior can serve our region."

Bernhardt’s visit to Pennsylvania’s 16th Congressional District was the fourth visit by a member of President Trump’s cabinet, following former SBA Administrator Linda McMahon, Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos, and Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Ben Carson.
